Mom and I just booked two tickets, bless her heart:
I leave for Alaska on August 8th. The itinerary is as follows:
Amtrak: 8/8/08 at 11:15pm, going 37.5 hours, sleeping through ND and eastern Montana and waking up in Glacier National Park! and arriving in Seattle on the 10th at 10:20 am.
Plane: 8/10/08 departing Seattle for Anchorage at 5:45pm, arriving in AK at 8:14. Curtis will be there to pick me up around 8:30, and I'll be in my new home by bedtime.
This makes it real. This is actually happening.
